Our Children's Book Week celebration (May 1-6) this year includes a bookmark contest, drop-in activities, a Lego Build Day, and our regular storytime.
Bookmark contest entry forms will be available at the library. We could probably also provide them electronically. Entries will be accepted May 1-8. Up to 10 bookmark designs will be reproduced and made available to our customers. If we can come up with a prize, one entrant will be randomly selected.
Saturday, May 6, we will host a Lego Build Day. We have a lot of bricks and other Lego parts available for kids (or adults) to drop in and create something. Those who wish may submit their creation for display in the library. We will display them for the month of May and customers may vote on their favorites. We will announce our People's Choice Award winners May 30.
Children’s Book Week, an annual celebration of books for kids and teens, was launched in 1919 and is currently administered by the non-profit Every Child a Reader.
